We believe in protecting the parks, supporting the people who care for them, and inspiring a new generation to explore. Our mission is rooted in stewardship, service, and community—values passed down through our family and shared by the broader El Burno herd.

 

WHO IS EL BURNO?
El Burno started as a character—an opinionated moose with a love for parks, music, and mischief—and grew into the creative identity behind our projects. Today, El Burno represents curiosity, courage, and the belief that good stories can change minds (and maybe save a few forests).

 

WHO MAKES UP THE EL BURNO TEAM?

We’re a mix of rangers, educators, conservationists, artists, and storytellers—bound by our belief that creativity is an act of stewardship and community is a force for good. Together, we keep the spirit of the parks alive in every design, story, and song.

WHAT DOES FAMILY MEAN TO US?
Family is at the heart of everything we do—and it’s not limited by blood. At El Burno, family includes close friends, extended relatives, friends of friends, and anyone who shares our ideals. The team behind El Burno is made up of some “official family,” longtime friends, collaborators, and kindred spirits who support what we stand for: protecting parks, advancing conservation, fostering community, and celebrating the idea of found family. Above all, we believe creativity is an act of stewardship—a way of caring for the things, places, and people that matter most.

WHAT ARE OUR MAIN THEMES?
We focus on truth, stewardship, and creative resistance. Whether through art, law, or storytelling, our work explores how people protect what matters—public lands, democracy, and the wild spirit that connects them.

WHY DID WE CREATE EL BURNO?
El Burno was created to honor our late father, a devoted outdoorsman whose love for nature and adventure shaped who we are. He could build a fire in a snowstorm, identify every bird call on the trail, and find magic in every hike. Through El Burno, we carry on his legacy—sharing that same love of parks, stewardship, and wonder with others.

Mostly. Think ranger humor meets real talk but sometimes there's explicit language. We try and keep it respectful, but some topics involve adult realities from the world of public service.
